Postponing the 2021 London Conference

Dear IIPA members,

In light of the current pandemic, and future uncertainty of the worldwide impact of Covid19, the Board of Trustees of IIPA voted in March 2020 to postpone the 2021 London conference for one whole year.  Although we reached this decision with regret and sadness, this is the most prudent way to protect the safety and well-being of our members and the association. The conference has been rescheduled for 2022 in the same location at The British Library - London.  We were fortunate to be able to secure similar dates for March 2022, and did not incur any financial loss to IIPA in the rescheduling process.  The new conferences dates are now:  16th March 2022 for pre-conference activities and all evaluations and 17th-19th March 2022 for the main conference event.

We hope that this delay will provide more time for all of us to get back to our usual family life and to recover both personally and financially.  Then, may we all be able to bring our experiences of working with the loss, trauma, and isolation of this time, into our shared space of loving friendships and professional contact and support.  The theme of our conference - Silence, Solitude, and Loneliness: Perspectives from Relational Integrative Psychotherapy - is now even more important and relevant than we ever could have known when we first chose this focus and title.

The CSC and the Board will be meeting soon to continue with the on-going business of IIPA, future planning, and discussion of accommodations that need to be made in light of the conference postponement.  At these meetings, we will also review how we might support those candidates who were planning their evaluation processes for London 2021, and/or awaiting feedback for their ongoing professional development via the Future Trainers Workshops.

We look forward to the London 2022 conference and know that even though we have to wait longer to meet again, this will be such a special time for us.  This will be a gathering where we will reunite face to face, in gratitude and appreciation, with so much to share with each other.

For now, please stay healthy.  Stay personally connected with friends and loved ones, and please contact us at IIPA if we can answer any other questions or be of assistance to you.

With our warmest regards to each of you,

Sally, Richard and Carol

Sometimes, decisions are both sad and wise. While I recognize the wisdom of this decision, and am grateful for the thoughtfulness behind it, I’ll miss seeing you — my friends from the IIPA — for an extra year. On the flip side, my anticipation will make my 2022 joy that much greater, Be well — the wellness that comes from living fully in human form — and I’ll see you in March of 2022.
